About UnionHire
UnionHire was founded in Portland, Oregon by a team of recruiters who believe that the power of a labor organization is only as strong as its people. With over a decade of recruiting experience across multiple industries—and a deep focus on the labor movement—we saw firsthand how difficult it can be to connect the right people with the right opportunities within the movement.
We built UnionHire to change that.
Our mission is to support the labor movement nationwide. This platform isn’t just for unions—it’s for the broader workforce. That includes nonprofits, advocacy groups, worker centers, and any organization working to strengthen workers’ rights and collective power. We provide a single, professional hub where people who care about the work can find meaningful careers, and where organizations can reach candidates who are already aligned with their mission.
We believe strong recruiting is essential to building resilient organizations. When hiring works well, teams grow stronger, campaigns become more effective, and the movement as a whole becomes more powerful. But too often, both employers and candidates face unnecessary barriers—whether it’s a lack of visibility, misaligned expectations, or simply not knowing where to look.
UnionHire exists to remove those barriers. This is a platform built by the workforce, for the workforce—designed to make hiring more transparent, more accessible, and more aligned with the values that drive the labor movement forward across the country.
